PKI Spotlight Q3 Release: Microsoft Intune Cloud CA Visibility, Expanded EJBCA Monitoring, and Centralized Connection Monitoring

PKI Solutions is pleased to announce the latest release of PKI Spotlight®, which brings a new integration with Intune Cloud, expanded EJBCA monitoring, centralized connection and service status, as well as several other major enhancements.

Microsoft Intune Cloud CA Visibility

PKI Spotlight now provides visibility into Microsoft Cloud CAs connected through Intune Cloud.  Administrators can monitor both the Intune connection and the associated Cloud CA services from the new Connection Status and Service Status views. This provides a consolidated way to monitor the availability and configuration of Microsoft Cloud PKI services alongside the rest of the PKI environment.

Expanded EJBCA Monitoring and Alerts

Following the introduction of EJBCA monitoring in earlier releases, we have significantly expanded the information Spotlight collects from EJBCA environments.

In addition to CA service health, Spotlight can now incorporate EJBCA data into Certificates, CRLs, Validation Locations, Topology, and Certificate Issuance Configurations, including visibility into EJBCA CA templates and End Entity Profiles.  Lastly, the new release incorporates best practice alerts (BPAs), flagging misconfigurations or risks within CAs and CRLs.

Centralized Connection and Service Monitoring

As organizations expand beyond traditional on-premises PKI, monitoring the health of the connections and services that make up the broader PKI environment becomes increasingly important. PKI Spotlight now provides centralized Connection Status and Service Status views, replacing previously separate configuration and monitoring experiences with a common interface for supported integrations (e.g. Hashicorp).

Administrators can quickly see connection health and configuration status, monitor the availability of underlying services, and receive events when service availability or configuration changes.

Expansion of the PKI Maturity Model

The PKI Maturity Model’s Governance assessment now includes Cryptography Governance, based on the PKI Consortium’s PKI Maturity Model.  The new assessment area helps organizations evaluate how cryptographic algorithms, parameters, and protocols are selected, approved, documented, and evolved over time.

As cryptographic requirements continue to change, particularly as organizations prepare for future algorithm transitions, governance becomes an increasingly important part of managing PKI as long-lived security infrastructure.

Additional Improvements

This release also includes improvements across certificate inventory and reporting, Luna HSM monitoring, Splunk integration, AD group access control, Best Practice Alert guidance and accuracy, and more.
